In our society, cultural norms often subject women and other vulnerable groups to various socio-cultural challenges. These include the denial of property rights, early child marriage, and an unequal burden of household chores, which are often not shared regardless of gender. These issues have created a significant gap between genders, with women and people living with disabilities bearing an undue share of labor that does not consider their physical limitations.
The current instability in the country has exacerbated these challenges, displacing millions and forcing many to seek refuge in neighboring countries. Women and people living with disabilities are among the most affected. Our program aims to empower these groups in all aspects, strengthening their capacity to contribute to nation-building.
With rural women constituting at least 85% of the micro-economic workforce in South Sudan, it is crucial to ensure they and people living with disabilities are given opportunities to fully participate in decision-making processes, particularly in economic development.
Our Core Values and Operating Principles guide our actions and decisions, ensuring integrity, inclusivity, and a commitment to empowering women and people living with disabilities. These principles are the foundation of our mission and drive our efforts toward meaningful change.
